1 Makhana Raita
Makhana, roasted 1 cup
2 cups of plain yogurt
Cucumber, grated 1 small
Tomato, finely chopped 1 small
1 green chilli, finely chopped
Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Black salt 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
How to Make Makhana Raita (Steps to Make Makhana Raita)
First of all, fry the makhana in a pan on medium flame until crisp and light golden brown.
When it cools down, crush the roasted makhana into small pieces with your hands or a rolling pin.
In a mixing bowl, beat the plain yogurt until smooth and creamy.
Add grated or finely chopped cucumber, chopped tomato and green chillies to the curd.
Add roasted makhana powder to curd mixture and mix well.
Add roasted cumin powder, black salt and common salt to your taste in the raita.
Transfer the makhana raita to a serving bowl and garnish with freshly chopped coriander and mint leaves.
2 Makhana Bhel
Roasted Foxgloves 1 bowl
1/2 cup chopped boiled potatoes
1/2 cup roasted peanuts
Chopped green chillies 2
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Rock salt to taste
Black pepper powder 1-2 tsp
Chopped coriander 2 tsp
Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
How to Make Makhana Bhel (Steps to Make Makhana Bhel)
In a bowl add potatoes, green chillies, chopped coriander, cumin powder, black pepper, salt and lemon juice.
Mix all these things well. Mix all the spices well.
Now add makhana and gram flour to it and mix it one last time.
Garnish with pomegranate seeds at the end. Your bhel will be ready to serve.
