You need tamarind to make the drink
1/2 cup of fresh tamarind pulp
4 cups of water
Sugar or honey for sweetness
Lemon juice and mint leaves are delicious
Make tamarind drink like this
Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Pour boiling water over tamarind pulp in a bowl. Let it soak for about 15-20 minutes to soften the pulp.
When the tamarind pulp becomes soft, mash it with a spoon or your hands and squeeze out as much of the pulp as possible in the water. You can also filter tamarind water for this.
Add the remaining 2 cups of water to the tamarind water.
For sweetness in tamarind drink you need to use sweetener. Add sugar or honey according to your taste and mix well.
Add lemon juice if you like and you can also add mint leaves for extra flavor.
Chill the tamarind drink in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving, otherwise you can add ice to it.
