Friends! I am so excited to share this with you today. I was planning a group tour with Go Ahead Tours and said today is the launch day. Mark and I had so much fun on our recent trip to Italy and we can’t wait to go back. I didn’t have to twist Mark’s arm to make the return trip to Italy. Mark and I wanted to do a trip first before I planned a trip with Go Ahead, and we were so happy with the tour that I had no qualms about planning it. This time, we’re heading north to Florence, Tuscany and the Italian Riviera. I will share all the details below, so if you are interested in traveling with us, please read it all carefully.

Full Disclosure: I am the group coordinator to create this trip in partnership with Go Ahead Tours and Mark and I will travel for free if I get all the necessary signups to make this trip. The minimum is 20 (other than us) and the maximum is 30, so that’s how many spots we have. We hope you’ll consider moving with us! I think the idea of traveling with some of my readers is really fun. You all have been with me for a long time and this is a great opportunity to meet in person and travel together. And you get to meet Mark too! I originally thought this trip was just for the girls, but after going on our Italy trip, I realized it didn’t have to be. Our group was a mix of singles and couples and it was perfect. This trip is open to singles (at a higher charge for a single room) or couples. Bring your husband, bring your girlfriend or sister, or even if you’re traveling alone, we’d love for you to join us! Here is mine Travel page with Go Ahead Tours And the link to this Italy trip is directly below. The tour will be open to sign up for 120 days, but I hope it doesn’t take long to fill up!

After traveling with Go Ahead Tours, I am very confident that you will all love it as much as we do. Traveling with a group can be daunting, but it comforts us to know that we are all traveling together and the tour director is the person who makes sure everything moves on time and the day-to-day activities are accomplished. I think you’ll find that chatting and getting to know other travelers is the highlight of the trip.

The days didn’t start very early and we usually got up around 7:30 to 8 am for breakfast and left for the excursion around 9:00 am. We felt that the pace of the trip was suitable for our age group. There are plenty of daily activities, as well as time to relax and unwind at the end of the day. We’re not people who think we need to cram as much as possible into a 24-hour day, and traveling can make you feel like you have to do it all and see it all, but it’s good for us and us to see the highlights provided. Felt like we got a great overview of each city we stayed in. I’ll share the itinerary of this trip below, so you know exactly what you’re signing up for.

This trip is 7 nights (or 9 nights if you extend), April 1-9, with an extension to Lake Como, so be sure and read the entire itinerary so you know what you’ll be getting on this Italian adventure. We’ll start in Florence, where we’ll stay for 4 nights, then head to the Italian Riviera, where we’ll stay for 3 nights. If you choose the additional Lake Como add on, it will be upgraded for an additional 2 nights. We also plan to do the Lake Como extension and we need at least 8 people to sign up to do that extension, I think. Check it out Here is my page on the tour For all information. Be sure and click the travel tab and open all so you can read about the entire trip including the hotels we stay at. Also note that you can see additional excursions each day and how much they cost.

I also went to Florence 30 years ago and can’t wait to visit again. It is a beautiful Italian city and it is a favorite of many people. Be sure and read the entire itinerary as well as walk estimates. On our recent trip to Italy we walked for about 2 to 3 hours a day, so good walking shoes are a must! Make sure the pace is good for you, we don’t want anyone to be disappointed with the daily walk involved. It’s usually slower, so that’s good too.

Here’s what to know about Go Ahead Tours

  • Their tours offer a carefully planned itinerary and plenty of free time to explore your interests.
  • Their tours include accommodation, transport on the tour, some meals, a dedicated tour director with you and local guides to show you the sights.

If you read the entire itinerary, you will see that all breakfasts are included. Hotels have breakfasts, and then you’re on your own for most lunches and some dinners. There are dinner options for add-ons for a fee, so these are usually special excursions like cooking classes, farmhouse dinners, etc. We liked some of them, but others we skipped and opted to try a local restaurant instead. I want you to know that you will have to pay for some meals when you get there, but it’s a great opportunity to try local cuisine in a group setting.

For our recent trip to Italy, it cost us about $5500 per person, including airfare and 3 additional excursions. You can see the cost of additional excursions on each day’s itinerary. You’ll spend a little more on meals when you get there, as well as customary tips you’ll know ahead of time. I took out about $200 euros and $100 more after we got there from the ATMs, so we easily spent $300 euros on tips and incidentals.
