The large wall in the studio now has another colorful addition. Yesterday, I hung a large, colorful wall calendar and the thing looks like it’s customized with my wallpaper! It’s perfect for my studio! It’s so big and so high that I need a step stool to use part of it, but I don’t care. Those big rectangles of happy color are worth having a pretty calendar on my wall.

I bought this huge wall calendar From Kaleidoscope Living A while back, and I’ve been dying to hang it on my wall for weeks. But I need to mount my large print and get the frame first so I can plan the rest of the wall.

But I went ahead and prepared for months and got them ready to hang by mounting them on foam core board and cutting them to size.

Then I used 3M, double-sided foam squares on the back of each month to hang them on the wall.

I hung these as I would any gallery wall, using my bubble level, a long straight edge and a piece of scrap wood as a spacer. I love how these hang on my wall!

With two large objects on the wall, I can tell how much room there is in the middle for a TV. I didn’t have enough room for a 55 inch TV as I originally thought, so I had to go with a much smaller 43 inch TV. I used a Hangman TV Mount (affiliate link), this is my absolute favorite mounting system for a TV. I’ve been using Hangman products for over a decade, so when I saw that they also make TV mounts, I chose them to hang three TVs in our house.

The Hangman TV mount is a very simple French cleat system, and it took about five minutes to hang the TV. Once the TV is hung, you can make small adjustments, I like to slide the TV to the left or right and get it where you want it.

I plan to make a frame for this TV, but it will be simpler than what I did for the TV in the breakfast room. I don’t like looking behind a wall mounted TV and the frame style I make takes care of that.

So here’s what the whole wall looks like so far. I love that the calendar and framed print are the same height. It’s as intended!

Under the TV, I’m going to build three very simple, shallow shelves. I have an idea of what I want to store on them, but for now I’m going to keep it to myself.

So the last piece of this puzzle I’m going to put on top of the TV. I haven’t figured that out yet. I’d like to add something round or free form, but I can’t think of anything other than a really big clock. I love clocks and so far I don’t have one in this room, so this might be the perfect place for one.

However, I can also add two more shelves above the TV. But whatever goes on top, the TV should only be decoration. Those shelves are not practical for storing items/products that I need to access regularly as they are too high for me to reach easily.

So this is the progress so far, and I absolutely love how this wall is turning out! It’s so colorful and bright and fun! It’s almost like it was custom made for me.
