2. Ask your child to pack a lunch
Involving your children in preparing lunch will make them feel like they are having their lunch, which will make them want to eat it. You can ask your child about what fruits he/she likes and what kind of condiment (yogurt or ketchup) they like. You can help them choose their favorite snack. Neonatologist and paediatrician, Dr Jagdish Kathwate says that this makes the children enthusiastic and motivated to eat what is given in the lunch box.

Use toothpicks for fruit so kids can enjoy them at break time, or cut the roti into a flower or sun shape and try to keep the portion small. It makes lunchtime interesting. Do not force children to eat the same food every day. Sandwiches, crackers, healthy laddus, dosas, idlis, pancakes, pita slices and hummus, pasta salad and thinly cut carrot or celery sticks or steamed, chilled broccoli are other options parents should consider for tiffin ideas, experts suggest.
4. Keep surprising
Add a healthy treat to their lunch box every day, but avoid discussing it with your child. Make him or her excited to know what they have been given today. Doing this makes them happy and they eat with pleasure. You can even leave a small note at lunch to make them happy.
